Detroit Says “No More Nickelback!”

“No more Nickelback!” is what fans of the Detroit Lions have to say. The NFL scheduled them for the halftime show of the Lions’ Thanksgiving game and people are not happy about it.

There is an online petition with more than 26,000 signatures from people who don’t want Nickelback associated with the Lions or Detroit.

Should Nickelback voluntarily drop out of the halftime show out of fear for their own safety? It looks like their welcome party may be a myriad of projectiles thrown by thousands of angry Detroiters.

Maybe we could clone Nickelback and have them play two songs at once…

Billboard Calling Out Facebook Music Service

Billboard has some qualms with the way Facebook is integrating the world of music into its social networking platform, namely the “So and So listened to ________” items that appear in their newsfeed as they listen to music on Spotify. Thanks to this we know who is still listening to N*Sync and Hanson. Billboard provides a few suggestions to Facebook on how to improve their presence in the music world.

Click here for Billboard‘s four suggestions to Facebook. Maybe if enough people “Like” the article Facebook might heed the advice.

Editorial Interns Needed!

Brite Revolution
Editorial Internship

Brite Revolution is a music discovery platform that connects artists and fans across multiple touch points: digital, print and mobile. But, dig a little deeper and it’s not hard to find our greater purpose – building community around the core principle of music discovery. We accomplish this by fostering community in a socially conscious environment and providing an expressive platform for artists to grow awareness for their work.

See, we think there’s an awful lot of talent out there that deserves a shot. We know there are tons of us who are eager to discover new music from a trusted source. And we also know there’s a lot of static that isn’t worth your time. We sort through the noise so you don’t have to. For our artists, we believe there is strength in numbers and encourage them to become advocates for other artists on the platform and partner with an organization that speaks to their heart. For our music fans, we deliver new music on a weekly basis and provide the tools for them to share their new finds with the world. Brite is about raising a flag and taking a stand. This Will Blow Your Mind

Did you know that the internet actually weighs something? We all think of data as a weightless amorphous cloud, but in reality it takes up physical space.

Don’t worry about the internet ever getting too heavy though- the whole thing weighs as much as a strawberry.
