Garrison Starr is AWESOME. I only say that because she completely and utterly brought down the house last night. Only a few bricks remain at The Darkroom. Ah, I’m just kidding, but seriously. No, I’m kidding, or am I?
A mere 15 hours ago, Garrison played a recorded LIVE showcase over at The Darkroom where her closest friends and pledged fans gathered to watch the raw production. One can hardly call it raw, though. It seems to have super-ceded the term ‘raw’. You see, it was not simply an acoustic guitar and Starr’s vocal. It was a collection of talented musicians, each baring their skills in a stripped down, modest way. The string section added the perfect amount of intensity and tension. Bass lines were nice and cozy in the tracks. Drums approached hellacious fills while still maintaining the fine, folkie nature of Garrison’s songs. It was raw. And by raw, I mean the definition of what music should be. Brite Revolution is thrilled to have been apart of such a transcendent evening.
So, Garrison Starr fans: Videos are coming soon!! Get excited. If you peel your eyes, you just might find some notable faces in the crowd, and if you’re lucky, the awe-inspiring faces of our summer interns.
Tune in regularly, download religiously, and leave a comment if you like : )

We understand. Thursdays can be the oddest of days. Being almost finished with still much to do is a state that is confusing, and in Ron Burgundy’s opinion, mind-boggling. So, before you resort to spending the night decompressing as you would a Monday or Tuesday, cuddled up with TIVO and swooning over Alec Baldwin’s haunting good looks, let us enlighten you with a strictly Thursday happening.
Brite Revolution’s venue, The Darkroom, is putting on a show for the neighbors! Aaron Winters will be playing a live set, followed by a short documentary on behalf of Greater Works. And the best part? It’s FREE!
So, take a stroll in the trendy, friendly Edgehill community. Grab a shake at Fat straw. Gargle a Margarita at Taco MamaCita’s. Heck, you could even go to Dulce desserts to tickle your fancy.
After you’ve had the Edgehill fill, head on over to The Darkroom to get your free party on. Culture and Fine Arts points included.
Also, GO LARRY KING FOR RAISING MONEY FOR GOOD CAUSES! Sha BAM!
